Opportunity in Disguise!

The King was a little free and so wanted to visit his favorite Sculptor Raman. The King always liked Raman's work as he finds value in each of his sculptures due to the deep and hidden meaning in each of them. The King reaches Raman's place and excited to see the new sculptures. Like any other visit, the King liked many of them and one differently looking sculpture caught his attention.

Here's how the sculpture looked. It had a human body, wings in place of hands and the face was covered. So, it's unseen if the sculpture had the human face or an animal's face or a bird's face or the sculpture is faceless! Puzzled King asks Raman, "What's this?"

Raman asks the King to guess. After several failed attempts, the King asks Raman to tell about the attention-catching sculpture.

Raman says, "My lord, this sculpture depicts Opportunity!"

Puzzled King, "What? Opportunity?"
Raman: "Yes my Lord".

Sarcastically King says, "This for me looks like a confused soul or maybe this depicts confusion and not opportunity"

Raman with a smile, says firmly, "No my lord it is Opportunity"

King asks Raman to explain.

Raman says, "Opportunity always will be in front of us; however, it comes in disguise. By the time we identify & grab the opportunity, it flies away!"

He goes on: "The human body denotes the opportunity which is in front of us. And as the face is covered, we fail to recognize it. And so, by the time we get to know of this, it will be far from our reach as it is on the fly!”

The King surprisingly, “Wow, what a great message! But how do we get to know of an opportunity?”

Raman says: “For that, we need to know our STRENGTHS!”

Enlightened king gifts lots of jewelry to Raman and asks his soldiers to take the sculpture to his Palace.

Experiencing the Magical Effects of the Beautiful Game

Make a Difference...

Poor Kids! It was a rainy day  and they were deprived of playing in the open ground. A ground amidst the graveyard that was compact and had just a couple of broken swings and stinking toilet around. Such is the fate of most government aided schools in India. Yet, playing there was a joyous act for the children. This was evident from the little-disappointed faces around. “Rain rain go away little children want to play” cried a small girl in me.  While children cursed the rain, I entered the classroom with slight nervousness and more excitement.  After all , it was my first interaction with the children. “Namaste Teacher,” said all the voice at once. “Good morning” was my response. Yes, I had to respond in English as I was there to conduct a short duration English learning sessions for the children. It’s very sad to know that a formal English class became a part of curriculum only from standard 5 here. “ Aidondli Aidu… Aideradli hathu ” “ Rajesha -...
